The College of Law at Al Falah University organized a workshop to promote the concept of intellectual property culture under the title "The Strategy of Legal Legislation in light of Intellectual Property Infringement Innovations" presented by Mr. Ibrahim Behzad, Director of Intellectual Property Rights Protection at the Department of Economic Development and Ms. Karima Hussein, Legal Advisor at the Dhahi Khalfan Property Center Intellectual property.
Mr. Behzad presented the Dubai Economic Action Mechanism in the pursuit of the intellectual property rights law. He pointed out that the commercial control and consumer protection sector has radically changed the control mechanism in the market by focusing on tracking the main suppliers of counterfeit goods and wholesalers.
He also added that Dubai's economy has always sought to strengthen its partnership with the private sector of intellectual property rights and law firms to make Dubai a better environment for protecting intellectual property rights.
During the workshop, a number of video footage showing the seizure of counterfeit goods in the markets was presented.
In addition, Ms. Hussein, stated that the UAE gives great importance to the issue of intellectual property rights and has imposed strict laws and procedures regarding this.
She also stressed that DAHI Khalfan Center for Intellectual Property is keen to develop an integrated strategy to promote the culture of innovation and creativity as the two pillars of building a competitive knowledge-based economy to develop a system that protects intellectual and creative production rights in all its forms.
