Journalism is the practice of investigation and reporting of events, issues and trends to a broad audience in a timely fashion. Though there are many variations of journalism, the ideal is to inform the intended audience. Along with covering organizations and institutions such as government and business, journalism also covers cultural aspects of society such as arts and entertainment. The field includes editing, photojournalism, and documentary. In modern society, especially in UAE, news media have become the chief purveyor of information and opinion about public affairs. The AFU offers Bachelor of Mass Communication in Electronic Journalism to provide the Country with well-educated and skilled graduate that are capable of holding this responsibility in UAE.
The university offers a four-year program in Bachelor of Mass Communication in Electronic Journalism. The main language of instructing courses will be Arabic language. The program is designed to prepare graduates who are able to deal with journalism technology with scientific skills to work in the fields of media. The program also aims to provide the graduate with various editing and journalistic skills, and the duration of the study is 126 credit hours over a four-year period of 8 semesters.
